Matthew Stafford was born February 7th, 1988 in Tampa, Florida to father John and mother Margaret Stafford. Living his early childhood growing up in Dunwoody, Georgia, his family later moved to Dallas, Texas where Matthew would star as a first baseman in baseball and a QB in football at Highland Park High School.

Stafford played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs, where he propelled himself to the top of the quarterback class for the 2009 NFL Draft. The Detroit Lions, searching for a new franchise QB, selected Matthew Stafford with the #1 overall pick in the draft. After a promising rookie campaign in 2009, Stafford suffered a season-ending injury the following year in ’10.

In 2011, Matt became the 4th quarterback in NFL history to throw for 5,000 yards in a single season. (Tom Brady and Drew Brees also accomplished the feat in ’11) He added a robust 41 passing touchdowns to only 16 picks last year and has quietly acclimated himself as a Top 5 QB in the National Football League.
